Hafiz Uddin is a partner and a senior attorney and immigration team lead at Chugh’s NYC office.
Hafiz earned his JD from New York Law School in 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and also studied International Relations at the City College of New York (CCNY). Hafiz focuses primarily on business/employment and investment-oriented visas such as the E-2/E-1, H-1B, L-1 and R-1 visas. He is also experienced in handling all types of family/employment based permanent residency and naturalization matters, complex RFE’s, motions and appeals. Hafiz also has extensive experience with all types of EB-5 matters, including direct and regional center-based filings and project finance strategies related to same.
Prior to joining Chugh, as a senior attorney with a prominent boutique immigration law firm, Hafiz represented a broad spectrum of clientele, including individuals, major financial institutions (including their CEO’s, executives and managers), hotels, software/IT companies, engineering and construction firms, restaurants, diamond and textile/apparel traders, among others, spanning the entire globe and across many diverse industries. Hafiz has also successfully represented clients and has extensive experience with regard to a wide range of real estate and business/corporate transactional matters, including co-op/condominium and town home sales/purchases, business/stock sales/purchases and commercial leasing transactions. Through his extensive and broad based combination of immigration, business/corporate and real estate legal experience, Hafiz has assisted large numbers of clients to reconcile strategic solutions relative to their immigration and business legal needs. Hafiz is a member of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) and the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association (AILA).
