Suneeta Dewan, a Juris Doctor from Seton Hall School of Law (US), also holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Osmania University (India) and a Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Economics and Political Science from St. Francis College (India). Before embarking on her legal career she was a successful business owner. This foundational business experience has guided the remarkable trajectory and diversification of her legal practice.
Her confluence of business, legal and international expertise also give Suneeta a deep understanding of the needs of newly established organizations and those continually restructuring to meet the demands of the global workplace. By providing cost effective and efficient advice, she successfully serves the immigration needs of American and multinational corporations in various industries. Suneeta also routinely advises family petitioners and international civil servants at a premier international organization. For over twenty-two years Suneeta has worked on the entire gamut of immigrant, non-immigrant, and business investor visas.
Suneeta is a member of American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She has worked with the diplomatic community for over sixteen years and presented at the UN and its agencies on all immigration matters. She is the Legal Advisor to Children’s Hope India, Inc. and Palms for Life, charities that raise funds to alleviate hunger, support education and provide health care. Chair, Legal Resource Network for Hindu Samaj, Bergen County (NJ). Suneeta is frequently invited to give seminars and presentations on immigration matters at various venues.
A committed social activist, Suneeta is involved in supporting various causes. She is an active member of Manavi, an organization for battered South Asian women. In legal clinics, she has counseled abused women on immigration matters.
Suneeta speaks fluent English and Hindi. Admitted in New York, New Jersey, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Supreme Court, Suneeta Dewan’s practice in New York and New Jersey concentrates on Immigration and Nationality Law. Suneeta currently spends her time in New York and New Jersey. She is also a mother of two children, both whom are successful attorneys.
