The U.S. Department of State (DOS) has released the August 2025 Visa Bulletin, which outlines the availability of immigrant visas for family-sponsored and employment-based categories according to applicants’ priority date.
The Visa Bulletin has two different charts per visa preference category
Final Action Dates
Dates for Filing
In coordination with DOS, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) reviews visa availability each month to determine which chart applicants should use to file an adjustment of status application. If USCIS determines that there are enough immigrant visas available to accommodate additional filings, applicants may use the Dates for Filing chart. Otherwise, they must use the Final Action Dates chart. USCIS publishes the applicable chart each month under the When to File page on its website.
For August 2025, USCIS has confirmed that all family-sponsored applicants must use the Dates for Filing chart, while all employment-based applicants must use the Final Action Dates chart.
