The U.S. Department of State has released the June 2025 Visa Bulletin, outlining the availability of immigrant visas for family-sponsored and employment-based categories. If you're waiting for an immigrant visa, this bulletin helps determine when you can proceed with your application based on your priority date (the date your petition was filed).
Understanding the Tables on the Visa Bulletin
Table A: Application Final Action Dates (dates when visas may finally be issued);
- This will determine when a visa number is available for issuance based on an applicant’s priority date.
- If a category shows:
- A specific date (e.g., "01JAN25"): Only applicants with a priority date before that date are eligible.
- "C" (Current): Visas are available to all applicants regardless of priority date.
- "U" (Unauthorized): Visas are unavailable for issuance.
Table B: Dates for Filing Applications (earliest dates when applicants may be able to apply).
- This indicates when applicants can submit documentation.
- Only applicants with a priority date before that date are eligible.
- If the category is “C” (Current), applicants can file immediately.
When USCIS determines there are immigrant visas available for the filing of additional adjustment of status applications, the Dates for Filing Applications chart may be used to determine when to file an adjustment of status application with USCIS. Otherwise, the Application Final Action Dates chart must be used to determine when to file an adjustment of status application with USCIS.
In coordination with the DOS, USCIS monitors visa numbers each month and post the relevant chart under When to File.
For June 2025, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has confirmed the following:
- Family-Sponsored Filings Applicants: All applicants must use the “Dates for Filing” chart in the Department of State Visa Bulletin for June 2025.
- Employment-Based Preference Filings: All applicants must use the “Final Action Dates” chart in the Department of State Visa Bulletin for June 2025.
