The United States Embassy in India has released a strong advisory warning to Indian citizens looking to travel to the United States.
The official post stated: "If you remain in the United States beyond your authorized period of stay, you could be deported and could face a permanent ban on traveling to the United States in the future."
This policy is applicable to Indians who are traveling to the U.S. on a time-bound visa that has an authorized period of stay, such as work visas, student visas, tourist visas, etc.
Additionally, foreign nationals staying in the United States for over 30 days are now required to register with the federal government.
