United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will temporarily waive the requirement that Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, must be signed by a civil surgeon no more than 60 days before an applicant files an application for an immigration benefit.
The waiver aims to help individuals affected by COVID-19 associated delays, especially delays with the medical examination. The temporary policy will allow Form I-693 to be submitted even if the civil surgeon’s signature is over 60 days old. It aims to benefit many Form I-485 applicants.
The policy is effective December 9, 2021 until September 30, 2022 and will apply to all Form I-693 associated with applications that are still pending with USCIS.
