USCIS to Introduce Online Filing for Form I-129, the Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, catering specifically to H-1B petitioners

By: Navdeep Meamber

Introduction

In February 2024, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will introduce online organizational accounts and enable H-1B petitioners to file Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, online for fiscal year (FY) 2025.

Summary

Legal representatives and organizations with H-1B registrant accounts, along with new users, will benefit from enhanced account features. These improvements will include a better design and a more efficient case management tool.

H-1B petitioners will have the option to submit Form I-129 and related Form I-907 premium processing requests conveniently through their organizational account online. Alternatively, they can authorize a legal representative to file on their behalf electronically. For those who prefer a traditional approach, filing a paper-based Form I-129 is also an available option. It's important to note that the H-1B registration process is exclusively conducted online.

On a similar note, USCIS will conduct two national engagements on organizational accounts on January 23 and January 24, along with smaller sessions leading up to the H-1B registration period. These sessions aim to guide individuals through the process.
