On November 14, 2019, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) proposed to adjust various immigration and naturalization application fees charged by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

DHS has proposed to adjust over 60 fees related to various USCIS forms and applications. Below please find a short sample of forms that have received a proposed fee adjustment.

  • Form I-90 Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card
  • Form I-130 Petition for Alien Relative
  • Form I-539 Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status
  • Form N-400 Application for Naturalization
  • Form I-601A Application for Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver
  • Form I-765 Application for Employment Authorization
  • Biometric Services Fee

Please Note: DHS also seeks to change the 15-calendar day premium processing period upon receipt of Form I-907 (Request for Premium Processing Service) to 15 business days.

The proposed rule is published in the Federal Register and will begin a 32-day public comment period. DHS will issue a finalized fee schedule after carefully reviewing the public comments that are submitted on or before December 16, 2019.

As always, we will continue to monitor this proposed change.
