The US State Department has completed the selection process for the fiscal year (FY) 2021 Diversity Visa lottery. Diversity Visa applicants should use their confirmation number, full name, and date of birth to verify their application status on the Diversity Visa Entrant Status Check website.
Applications filed between October 2, 2019 and November 5, 2019 were selected in the FY 2021 Diversity Visa lottery. Selected Diversity Visa applicants may apply for a green card, or legal permanent residence between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021.
The presidential proclamations of April 2020 and June 2020 temporarily limit the entry of certain immigrants into the United States and the issuance of certain visas at US Embassies and Consulates abroad, including the Diversity Visa until the end of the year. The proclamations affect Diversity Visa lottery winners who were outside of the United States on 11:59pm EDT on April 23, 2020, and who do not already have a US visa or travel document. Diversity Visa winners who are already in the United States and eligible to file an adjustment of status application are not impacted by the presidential proclamation.
If you receive a communication that you have won the Diversity Visa lottery, it is likely fraudulent. The only reliable source for selection information is the State Department’s Diversity Visa website.
