The United States has issued a fresh warning for foreign students, including students from India, currently residing in the United States on a student visa. As per the latest announcement shared by the U.S. Embassy in India, foreign students found skipping classes or dropping out of their courses may risk losing their visa.
“If you drop out, skip classes, or leave your program of study without informing your school, your student visa may be revoked, and you may lose eligibility for future U.S. visas. Always adhere to the terms of your visa and maintain your student status to avoid any issues,” reads the official statement.
This warning from the U.S. government comes after it carried out major deportation drives earlier this year, which targeted students and immigrants in the country. Foreign students looking to make any significant changes to their current coursework or hoping to travel outside the United States should consult the trusted Chugh, LLP immigration team.
